At its 30th anniversary celebration in October 2015, KCM honored Dale Wamboldt--better known to Kenosha as TV host Dr. Destruction--with its Dennis Shook, Sr. Award, recognizing not only Dale's 15 years of producing "Dr. Destruction's Crimson Theatre," but also for his community service. Congratulations and thank you, Dale...Dr. Destruction!
Kenosha Community Media is a proud member of the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce. In March 2016, KCM visited Expo • 16 Health & Home Show at the Frank J. Petretti Fieldhouse at UW-Parkside, where KCM hosts Richard Schmerling and Carole Moresi spoke with representatives of the many businesses and organizations who were there to greet the public and share information about their services.
KCM is proud to work with the Kenosha Literacy Council by providing video coverage of its biggest fundraiser of the year, its 17th annual Corporate Spelling Bee. This event takes place on Friday, April 8, 2016 in the Madrigrano Conference Center at Gateway Technical College, 3520 30th Ave., Kenosha, WI. Video coverage will be broadcast at a later date in April on KCM cable channel 14 (97.14), Time Warner Cable, and may be viewed on KCM's YouTube channel. KCM has been working with the Wisconsin Women's Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) in 2015/16 to demonstrate how WWBIC can benefit the entrepreneur to start and maintain their business.
Members of the Nonprofit Networking Group of the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce visited our Media Center in December 2015 to share their stories before our cameras. Their production was led by Carol Zaruk. Nonprofit representatives are welcome to attend meetings of this group on the third Wednesday of each month, beginning at Noon, at the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce, 600 52nd Street, Suite 130.
