Southport Press Thanks The Boys & Girls Club The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha recently welcomed Southport Press' Joshua Frazer and John Hambrock to provide a class in the art of cartooning to its students.
In his presentation, Frazer commented that cartooning is a lot like filmmaking, except the cartoonist is able to choose which frames are important enough to carry the story. Frazer is a recent graduate of UW-Parkside's arts program. Hambrock is a nationally-syndicated cartoonist.
The Boys & Girls Club has invited them to return this year for a cartooning course to its 5th-7th grade students.
The Boys & Girls Club students have also participated in video production training through Kenosha TV.
In the month of May, Kevin Poirier of Kenosha News will lead a two-part photography course for these youth.
Thank you for reading. Kenosha Community Media congratulates and welcomes the newly-elected and reelected officials to the City of Kenosha Common Council, County Board of Supervisors, and the Kenosha Unified School District School Board.
Kenosha Community Media is a proud member of the Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce. It is also a member of the Alliance for Community Media, the Wisconsin Association of PEG Access Channels, and the Nonprofit Technology Network.
