Say hello to the following organizations that are working to preserve and enhance the public's voice in their communities through the conduit of public access television and other areas of communication.

Alliance For Community Media

Founded in 1976, the Alliance represents over 3,000 Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) access organizations and community media center throughout the country. The ACM works to protect the interests of these access centers and those who use PEG facilities and equipment to advance their causes through cable television and the Internet. ACM also represents:

  • Local community groups
  • Public schools
  • Religious institutions
  • Colleges and universities
  • Government officials
  • Second language communities
  • National institutions such as  NASA, the US Department of Education, and the US Army

Wisconsin Community Media

Wisconsin Community Media serves its member station's needs and strives to make Wisconsin a great place for residents to view and participate in community television.  WCM works within the "access television" community and with other organizations to make it easier for public speech and information distribution to happen on the local level. It works with individuals, organizations, educational institutions and local governments.

WCM is a 501(c)(6) professional member organization.  Currently, WCM has 60 public, education, and government ("PEG") access television member stations in Wisconsin. 


WGTD 91.1 FM HD3

WGTD 91.1 FM at Gateway Technical College provides local programming over its HD3 channel.  Programming includes WGTD Radio Classics Theater with Steve Brown and Mike Ullstrup; the Gateway Radio Reading Service; "In Between The Music" with Lily Micelli; "Speaking Of Our Words" with the Kenosha Writers' Guild; "Island Style" with Dave Moresi; "The Troy McDonald Show" with Troy McDonald and his guests that include the movers and shakers of the Kenosha area; and "Solid Gold" with Jeremy Andrews.


WLIP 1050 AM

Local news, events and entertainment are featured on WLIP 1050 AM.  Weekday programs include "The Wake Up Call" with Bill Lawrence; "Remembering Kenosha" with Louis Rugani; "Happenings Q&A" from Happenings Magazine; "The Lenny Palmer Show"; and "The K-Town Report".  Weekend shows include "Doo Wop Diner"; "Political Sense" with Ray Misner; "Kenosha Bible Church Service"; "The Mothership Connection" and more.  The station also features the AM 1050 WLIP Game of the Week.
